East Java is the
home of Mount Bromo, well known as the place for the best
sunrise in the world. Filmmakers can reach this wonderful place
with cars.
It is also the place with patriotic and historical stories, back
to the 12th century. The regions give birth to many heroes. One
of the heroes whose ideas is still speaking loud until nowadays
is the great Gajah Mada. It has shaped the old version of
Nusantara that is the forerunner of our country now.
The visions and courage of the great prime minister Gajah Mada
had left a remarkable track about visionary, unity, courage,
bravery, and profound spiritualism.
Many heroes had led characters that the Festival is trying to
burn the good old value into the young and old generation of
Indonesia, as well as the international people. The Festival
wishes to enliven the spirits again in the work of art through
art and filmmaking.
East Java International Film Festival welcomes all filmmakers,
newcomers, and students to do their best, to star, and to change
the world through the work of arts and films.
FESTIVAL EVENTS
Awards Ceremony will be held
and hosted in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia.
Kings and queens from Nusantara are invited. The festival will
also be featuring screenings, film-making workshops, and a
special meet-and-greet with the king.
Besides the formal and exquisite Event, winning filmmakers would
be bathed by the most beautiful sunrise of the Mount
Bromo, that sits in the middle of a brownish dessert look-alike
called the "Sea of Sand", after an adventure of
once-in-a-lifetime in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. An
enjoyable moment will be presented in a journey of leisure, in
the friendly chilly hill of Batu surrounded by three mountains.
The trip will give a relaxed atmosphere while doing the lazy
excursion and chitchatting about the world of filmmaking at the
various local amusement.
